I'm On The Top Of The World...

Looking down on Creation... It's the only explanation I can find... (sing along everyone!)

Dear Friends,

I have decided last minute (yesterday) to go on the mountain hiking trip with my husband and son! I know, I know...CRAZY~!!! It's a ten mile hike straight up the mountain. We pack EVERYTHING in and pack it back out the next Friday. I've been training for this trek for some time but bailed on it about a month ago when I didn't think I was going to be able to do it. I will be praying for you all while hiking...Please do me a favorite and pray for me too. Pray that the bee's that I'm deathly allergic to stay away from me. I do carry a life saving kit if a bee stings me but getting stung would end our trip. I know this for I have been stung 4 times in my life-It's a horrible experience! Cell phones and computers don't work up there so I will write when I get back Saturday morning.

Chalkboard News...

A year ago today I blogged about these chalkboard herb pots I made...

With the chalk pens below...

Here is a close-up:

Update: Thru trial and error I have learned a little more about the chalk pens that I want to share with you... You have to brush many MANY coats of the chalkboard paint on the pots or any chalkboard project. If you don't the chalk pens won't wipe off completely. It states on the back cover of the pens that you can remove your chalk pen (art/writing) with ammonia based cleansers- But I tried and if you only use one to three coats of the paint the chalk pens leave a residue.

What I have found that works best on my chalkboard crafts is just using good old fashion chalk!

Another thing that is fun to use is the new 3-D chalk as shown in the photo below:

My daughter Ronnie did this little masterpiece to welcome our friends (Family) to our home...The fun part was watching Caroline (who is 8 yrs old) view the chalkboard while wearing the 3-D glasses that are packaged with the 3-D chalk ... Okay, truth be told, we all had our turn with the glasses! They are so GROOVY!

I just wanted to set the record straight on what I have learned!

Makes You Wanna Say: Hmmmmm......?

Hi Everyone,

I've been on some heavy duty meds this last week and have been doing some pretty crazy things (so "they" tell me.) I'm fine though and should be off the meds and back to "normal" by Monday. In the mean time I wanted to share something funny with you... I took Kimberly & Caroline to see this last week when we were in La Push. It was really foggy BUT beautiful.

Here's the sign:

Needless to say... we didn't cross~ :)
Have a great weekend everyone!
