♫ ♪ Sleigh Bells Ring...

 I'm just messing with you girls, sleigh bells aren't really ringing though I know many of you got hit real hard with snow this year...

 Here in Seattle I don't think we even had one flake of snow fall this year. To top it off Spring has come to visit us early...

My kids really missed the snow this Christmas-So I brought a winter wonderland to them...

Remember how I showed you a way to put snow on a fake Christmas tree?  Click HERE to see that tutorial again.
 I added some trees around it to give it more flare...

Like some alder trees that I painted white- Then I put glue on them and applied fake snow.  I added the snow on the ground, a sled and a couple of...

 ...Cardinals too.

I took all my Christmas decor down right after the holiday was over. But I left our little winter wonderland so we could enjoy the season that missed us.

Thank you everyone for the super kind comments on my post before this~You girls really know how to make someone feel special~♥

How Do You See The World?

Photobucket

During an interview Stephenie Meyer who wrote the Twilight series said she saw everything around her in a story form-She was always thinking up stories in her head of things she saw during the day. She thought everyone did this. The lady interviewing her said she was sure most people didn’t. This got me thinking… Even though I didn’t see the world around me in story form I did see it a certain way~

***

So I asked my husband how he saw life around him…

Photobucket

He told me that he looks at things and wonders how he can improve them or build something using the items he sees.

So when he is climbing on these logs…

Photobucket

…He is building this in his head. I like the way his mind works.
***

Then I asked my mom what her take on matters were?

I should have known her answer being she IS a artist.

Photobucket

When my mom is traveling around and sees something special she visualizes it as a painting.

Sometimes she just remembers it, like this storm over the Palouse here in Washington that she painted.

Other times she takes a picture of it like…

Photobucket

This house she saw in Virginia on a road trip with her sister and her mother.
She snapped a few pictures, when she got back home she grabbed a canvas and got busy painting.

***

I’m quite sure you all already know how I see the world around me. When I am out and about I can hear the shutter of my camera clicking away in my mind. I see still shots everywhere I go… Here are some photos I took of the beautiful world around me.

Two Things Today...

First off I wanted to wish my little sister Lori a very Happy Birthday today!

The world became a better place to live in on this day because you were born:
1/11/19imnottelling!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Secondly, I wanted to let you all in on what I'm doing with the quilling tool.
I was checking out Valentine's day crafts on Martha Stewart's Website and thought these were cute.
Transform simple cardboard boxes into poetic containers. Cover boxes with red paper, and then attach clusters of folded roses with craft glue. Tuck a heart-shaped chocolate or other romantic treat inside.
A nosegay of tiny red roses evokes Victorian charm. Create a dozen folded roses, and add floral-wire stems; wrap the bouquet in silk tissue, and set it in a vase.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here's how to make the folded rose:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Slip one end of a 5/8-inch-by-24-inch paper strip into the quilling tool; turn it three times to create rose's center.
2. Fold paper away from you, at a right angle. Roll paper again, letting the top edge flare outward while keeping the bottom edge tight against the tool. Add dabs of glue at base as you roll.
3. When the fold is at the top of the bloom, make another right-angled fold. Roll again in the same fashion. Repeat this folding and rolling technique until the rose is the size you want
4. Glue end in place.
♪♫ I'm In The Mood For Love...
♫Simply because Tim's near me... La, la, la, la laaa laaa ♫
I know, I know, I'm a dorkfish. But I wanted to let you ladies know I have Valentines day crafts on my mind. Don't you? In the next few weeks I hope to be posting some fun crafts to make for yourself or your loved ones. I say hope because we all know how my 25 days of Christmas went! My brother called it the 7 days of Christmas-Ha! No excuses, thank God life happens!
The photo above is so special to me and reminds me of Valentines day. It was two years ago that I had to go gluten free (no flour, rye, barley or oats for me) The one thing I missed sooo much is pizza. That was until my daughter Ronnie made this gluten free pizza for me with Ian's pizza kit-It is FABULOUS! She was so sweet to make it into a heart shape. Whenever Ronnie bakes anything for the family she will also make something gluten free for me~So Sweet. Thanks Ronnie, I love you!
So off to the craft store I go-To buy a quilling tool... I'll explain later! :) Happy Day!
La Push Baby~♥
Some of you may have noticed I haven't been around much. That is because my husband and I decided to head out of town a few days ago. We made reservations at the Reservation...Jacob's Rez at First Beach... A romantic getaway just for two~♥
Our check in wasn't until four so we drove around over by Sol Duc hot springs mapping out places to hike and fish. While we were driving I sent a text to our youngest son Timothy (who will be 18 next month) Here is a short sample of our texting conversation:
Me: Timmy, could you please take Paco out today after you wake up and feed both dogs tonight?
"Tick tock, tick tock"...About two hours later I get this text back:
Timmy: Soo where did u two love birds run off to this time?
Me: La Push Baby!
Timmy: Ha Ha! Nice for the 300th time!
I think it's cute that he called us love birds!
Photobucket
The first picture I took is the view from the large bath towards the fireplace and the inside of the house we stayed in-The photo above is looking out from the bath the other way. I'm pretty sure that is Jacob and Bella's log out there. The house we stayed in had very few walls facing the beach, just mostly windows so we could see the whole beach from any room. We could see the cliffs that Bella dove off to the left and St. James Island to the right. There was a eagle perched on a log right outside our place one night~Then the next morning we could see surfers riding the violent waves in the middle of a major rain storm!
We just got back last night ~I will blog more about this little vacation in the next few days. For everyone who E mailed, called, or anybody new to my blog that left a comment... I WILL be gettting back to all of you AND be making my rounds to everyone's blogs this week sometime!
Hope you are having a wonderful New Year so far!
