Last week we got a break in the action and headed over to Ocean Shores. My friend Lorri who just happens to live in Georgia told me about the Alaskan snow owls over on the beach at Damon Point. Damon Point is a 61-acre day-use park, that's on the southeastern tip of the Ocean Shores Peninsula. It was the first that I've ever heard of this phenomenon that is basically in my back yard~I've been to Ocean Shores many times but didn't know about Damon Point. It also has tons of shells on the beach and if you go when the sun is shining in the winter you should see some baby seals. There is also a whale watching tour from Ocean Shores to Westport (dress WARM.)
So off we went looking for the much talked about Alaskan Snow Owl...
It was a long hike and I was taking pictures along the way, of course...
We thought we spotted one... Nope.
We climbed over logs, through tall grasses and across soft sand. I thought this log with the rocks stuck in it was pretty cool.
Our granddaughter Noelle loved this hollowed out log and her trusty walking stick.
These geese flew right over me, but still no owls...I was beginning to wonder if they had already left.
Sun in front of him, storm coming in from behind.
AND of course I couldn't leave without a zoomed in closeup-Look at those Talons!
The weather turned cold so we trekked back to our WONDERFUL cottage and took a long nap...
...then headed out once again to build sand castles~
A perfect day.

I do remember when your daughter had her accident. What a scary time. We are very lucky, Brittanys accident could have been so much worse. She is having an MRI on her back this week.
Hope you have a wonderful week ahead,
