Easy No-Sew Shirt

I love Target's dollar bin.  The other day I was in there and they had a roll of felt ribbon in the shape of hearts strung together-Each roll had 3 colors.  Adorable! I knew I had to do something with it.

I took it home and grabbed some Steam-A-Seam 2 though you could use Heat N Bond Ultra hold too.

In this photo I had not cut around each heart (as shown by arrow)-This is a must and is the most time consuming part. Once you get each layer cut out, place a row at a time on the shirt. Iron as directed on fusible backing instructions.  The heart ribbon was thick and I didn't feel the hearts were stuck on good enough. So once I had ironed all the rows on from the front, I turned the shirt inside out and ironed the back of the hearts.
This really made the hearts stick...
There's no getting them off now!

Inexpensive, easy and best of all...My granddaughter loves it!

    1. Debbie, this was pretty simple. Think I'll make some fabric hearts and use the infusible web to put it on another shirt. This one was so cute on Noelle!

Oh my gosh, that is so clever, I love it! I have a thing for hearts too. This shirt is so cute, and you did a great job. I love Target....every time I go there, I come home with a handfull of goodies.

  5. Sheri: I adore Target! The thing that shocked me the most about this shirt is that it washed up nice! I also put it in the dryer and it came out looking as good as new! I only turned it inside out before putting it in the wash, hoping for the best. :) Right now I'm making some roses and actually thought of you while making them "red rose"

  6. How cute is that - my daughter would love that. She really likes to dress for the holiday and loves creating it herself - thanks for the great idea.

    1. I have to tell you, I love that Steam A Seam 2. It holds really well. I'm already thinking of of things like heart shaped fabic etc to iron on her shirts. Yes, SO many holidays that it would be fun to create for. What I love is that the T-shirts go on sale a lot for $2 $3 - That's when I stock up! Have a great weekend!

  8. Robin,
What a wonderful story about the chickadee landing on your finger. You should do a blog post about it. It would be such a special one. Have a great week.

  11. Robin,
How fun for you to have owned a flower shop years ago. I always wanted to own a charming shop for home goods. I used to go to an angel shop many years ago, and it was my favorite place to go, and they closed it down. It really bummed me out. I love your blog name, AND your blog.
    Have a sweet day,
